About the Role

Southern Rural Water is currently seeking a motivated and adaptable individual to join our team as a Maintenance Planner. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the efficient operation of the Water Supply East team, where you will manage resources and coordinate daily maintenance activities to ensure we meet our corporate objectives while delivering outstanding customer service.

As the Maintenance Planner, you will be responsible for organising and overseeing maintenance operations, supporting the maintenance team, and ensuring processes within the Water Supply East team run smoothly. Your leadership skills will be critical in guiding and empowering a team to achieve shared goals, while upholding SRW’s values.

We are looking for someone with strong problem solving abilities and an always safe approach, capable of managing resources, delegating tasks, and making decisions with accountability.

As the Maintenance Planner, some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Lead and manage daily maintenance activities: Set priorities, coordinate resources, and provide direction to the maintenance team and contractors, ensuring performance meets service delivery requirements.
  • Culture Building: Lead by example as part of the Water Supply East Leadership team, fostering SRW’s values and culture.
  • Managing Asset Integration: Manage and support the development and integration of modernised assets into SRW’s Asset Management System.
  • Irrigation maintenance expert: Develop expertise in irrigation maintenance and serve as a subject matter expert.
  • Providing technical support: Offer high-level guidance on maintenance and construction projects across districts.

About you

The successful candidate for this position will be able to demonstrate some of the desired experience and abilities below:

  • Proven ability to lead and supervise teams, driving efficiency and ensuring effective customer outcomes.
  • Prior experience in planning or undertaking maintenance activities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain productive relationships.
  • Broad understanding of compliance processes, with the ability to interpret and work within the Water Act 1989.
  • HC truck license and competency tickets for earthmoving plant and equipment would be advantageous.
