About the Role
Southern Rural Water is currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Engineer – Electrical and Control Systems to join our team. If you’re a seasoned electrical engineer looking for your next challenge, this opportunity could be the perfect fit for you!
As the Senior Engineer – Electrical and Control Systems, you will provide expert technical and specialist engineering advice to support the management of SRW's assets in alignment with SRW Asset Management Policy. You will play an instrumental role in ensuring the efficient planning, maintenance, and optimisation of SRW assets to meet both customer expectations and regulatory requirements.
As a key member of the Asset Management team, you will lead efforts in planning and preparing pricing submissions, conducting analysis of strategic and project specific assessments, evaluating option assessments, and delivering detailed designs.
Your expertise will contribute to enhancing asset management practices, driving efficiency and fostering continuous improvement while maintaining the highest standards of operational integrity.
As the Senior Engineer – Electrical and Control Systems, some of your responsibilities will include:
- Development and implementation of an Operational Technology asset management strategy and policy for SRW.
- Development and implementation of plans, reports and tools for various stages of asset lifecycle management.
- Implement improved asset management processes and practices, providing specialised advice on asset management improvements.
- Providing technical advice for design and construction of infrastructure replacement and service enhancement projects, primarily to ensure that the whole of life of the asset is considered.
About you
The successful candidate for this position will be able to demonstrate some of the desired experience and abilities below:
- Qualifications: A Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering is essential.
- Asset Management Expertise: Proven experience developing and implementing asset management strategies aligned with AMAF standards and regulatory requirements.
- Project Planning and Design: Capability to plan and design capital projects within the water sector, with a strong foundation in electrical and control systems engineering and project management.
- Communication Skills: High quality written report and presentation skills, with the ability to explain and simplify complex issues for diverse audiences.
