About the Role
Southern Rural Water is currently seeking a passionate and strategic individual to fill the role of Manager, Strategic Projects. This role leads the delivery of key service optimisation projects, applying technology to solve complex problems and drive operational efficiency to achieve outstanding results for customers, community and stakeholders.
Initially focusing on the Macalister Irrigation District, you will also work across all our regulated water districts. You will analyse existing operational processes, identify priority areas for improvement, and lead projects that harness innovation and technology to deliver water delivery improvements to our customers
As the Manager, Strategic Projects, you will champion values of continuous improvement to shape the future of our regulated district operations, performance, and productivity. You will apply your diverse experience to develop solutions that align with our strategic goals.

As the Manager, Strategic Projects, some of your responsibilities will include:
- Leading small and large improvement and service optimisation projects to continuously and measurably improve processes, productivity, and team collaboration.
- Lead the transformation of district operations, performance and productivity to deliver on strategic outcomes identified in our corporate plan
- Engage externally and build key relationships to understand trends in operational technology that would challenge our current practices and lead a culture of continuous improvement.
- Identify, develop and deliver strategic business initiatives, commercial contracts and business partnerships to optimise operational performance, financial outcomes, community and customer aspirations and environmentally sustainable solutions.
About you
The successful candidate for this position will be able to demonstrate some of the desired experience and abilities below:
- Previous experience in strategic project program delivery, operational optimisation, business transformation, innovation and strategy and project management.
- Demonstrated leadership experience as a senior manager, leading innovation and driving change.
- High level conceptual and analytical skills with the ability to navigate complex challenges and develop effective solutions.
- A collaborative style of working which is both influential and results orientated.
- Experience in preparation of business case proposals and board papers.
