About the Role
Are you looking for a role where you can play a vital part in delivering water to customers in the Macalister Irrigation District using our advanced SCADA and planning systems? If yes, then the Water System Planner position could be the perfect role for you!
The Water System Planner plays a crucial customer facing role, acting as a primary point of contact between customers and the Water Supply team. The main function of the Water System Planner is to organise, schedule and deliver water to our local farming customers to meet the requirements of our customers and the irrigation system.
This is a multi-functional role working on a rotating roster. Your responsibilities will vary across the year, from office-based planning and reporting to field-based maintenance of irrigation infrastructure when required.
As the Water System Planner, you will assist to resolve customer issues while maintaining a high level of customer service. You will also monitor and report on system performance, identifying any impacts to customer supply and ensuring compliance with operational standards.
As the Water Systems Planner, some of your responsibilities will include:
- Coordinate and plan the successful delivery of customer orders for water in line with Southern Rural Water's business obligations utilising a SCADA and schematic based planning system.
- Develop and maintain effective customer relationships, including providing support and information.
- Resolving customer related service supply issues in an effective and timely manner.
- Be the primary point of contact between customers and field staff for operational issues.
- Work independently and in a self-directed manner.
About you
The successful candidate for this position will be able to demonstrate some of the desired experience and abilities below:
- High level of computer skills, with the ability to become familiar with the Irrigation Planning Module, Network Visualisation programs and SCADA operating systems
- Adaptable and proactive approach to change and working flexibly.
- Strong customer service focus.
- Ability to make independent decisions and prioritise own tasks, to meet performance standards.
