About the Role
Are you ready to lead a high-performing team and drive excellence in asset management?
Southern Rural Water (SRW) is seeking a Team Leader Asset Management to provide leadership, technical expertise, and strategic direction to ensure SRW’s infrastructure is managed in line with best practice and long-term resilience goals.
In this role, you will lead a multi-disciplinary team of engineers and asset management professionals to develop and implement asset management and asset class plans, renewal models, capital and maintenance budgets, and initiatives that deliver improved customer value. You will play a critical role in shaping our short- and long-term investment strategies, delivering sustainable outcomes that balance financial and environmental sustainability, and maturing asset management practices that are compliant with the Asset Management Accountability Framework.
From concept designs and options analyses through to preliminary business case development, you will guide investment decisions that optimise safety, efficiency, customer value, and system performance. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence infrastructure outcomes that deliver lasting value to our customers and communities.
As the Team Leader Asset Management, some of your responsibilities will include:
- Lead the development and implementation of plans, reports and tools for various stages of asset lifecycle management.
- Drive improved asset management processes and practices across the organisation, ensuring alignment with ISO 55001 and compliance with the Asset Management Accountability Framework (AMAF).
- Provide technical engineering expertise to lead the development of asset planning activities including problem statements, options analyses, concept designs and preliminary business cases, to inform capital delivery projects/programs of work; completed in a timely manner and to meet business requirements.
- Contribute to sustainable asset solutions that optimise safety, operability, technology, cost, customer outcomes, system performances and risk-reduction.
- Developing financial models for assets (e.g., renewal models, lifecycle cost models) to inform short- and long- term capital and operation planning.
About you
The successful candidate for this position will be able to demonstrate some of the desired experience and abilities below:
- Qualification: Tertiary qualification in engineering (civil, mechanical, or electrical) or equivalent, with eligibility for membership of Engineers Australia.
- Experience: 6+ years experience in water industry or asset management. Including demonstrated expertise in infrastructure planning, project management, and lifecycle cost modelling.
- Knowledge: Demonstrated expertise in asset management frameworks, with practical experience in regulatory price submissions to the Essential Services Commission. Knowledge of ISO 55001 and the Asset Management Accountability Framework (AMAF) is highly regarded.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify technical information for diverse audiences.
- Leadership capability: experience in coaching, performance management, and building collaborative teams.
