About the Role

Are you passionate about creating safe workplaces and building strong partnerships? We are looking for a Health and Safety Coordinator to lead and continuously improve our Contractor Safety Management System (CSMS), helping ensure the safety of everyone involved in delivering work across Southern Rural Water.

In this role you will be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for contractor safety, providing trusted advice and support to teams across the organisation. You will work closely with stakeholders to ensure contracted works meet legislative obligations, promote our Always Safe value, and drive positive safety outcomes from project planning and design through to delivery and handover. You will also oversee contractor safety reporting, assurance activities, and performance monitoring, using data and insights to support continuous improvement.

As the Health and Safety Coordinator, some of your responsibilities will include:

  • End-to-end support, advice and oversight of all contractor works.
  • Conducting, reviewing and recording investigation or incidents within SRW’s OHS management system.
  • Assisting with internal and external health and safety audits within projects.
  • Providing safety advice to project teams and associated operational teams.

Desired Skills and Experience

About you

The successful candidate for this position will be able to demonstrate some of the desired experience and abilities below:

  • Formal qualification in Occupational Health and Safety.
  • Previous experience in OHS, risk, insurance or Human Resources.
  • Previous experience in construction, capital delivery project and/or engineering (desired).
  • First Aid Certificate, or willingness to obtain and maintain.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office suite, and experience using MyOSH or other OHS Management Systems.

If you have experience in health and safety, enjoy collaborating with others, and are passionate about making a difference, we'd love to hear from you. A background in construction, infrastructure, engineering, or project environments would be highly regarded.
