Southern Rural Water (SRW) are looking for a Senior Security Architect to join our team on a temporary 12-month basis. The Senior Security Architect will provide security architecture leadership for SRW's Digital Transformation and ERP Program, with a primary focus on embedding cyber security within solution design, vendor engagement, delivery planning, and operational readiness. The Senior Security Architect will work across multiple business units and programs to support the development, refinement and implementation of SRW’s Cyber Security Strategy and Security Risk Management Plan.
As the Senior Security Architect, some of your responsibilities will include:
Lead security architecture across SRW’s Digital Transformation Program, defining and maintaining target-state security architecture, security-by-design principles, reusable patterns and practical guidance across ERP, cloud, Microsoft platforms, data, integration, AI, SaaS, legacy systems and OT-related interfaces.
Develop and support implementation of SRW’s Cyber Security Strategy and Security Risk Management Plan, translating strategic priorities and risk appetite into security roadmaps, control requirements, treatment plans, assurance activities, governance reporting and continuous improvement initiatives.
Define and review security controls covering identity and access management, privileged access, data protection, privacy, secure migration, logging, monitoring, operational resilience, AI security, IT/OT segmentation, vendor access and secure operational support models.
Provide end-to-end security assurance across procurement, discovery, design, build, testing and implementation by conducting risk assessments, threat modelling, solution and vendor reviews, security testing guidance, design validation and decision-ready reporting in collaboration with internal teams, vendors and governance forums.
Desired Skills and Experience
About you
The successful candidate for this position will be able to demonstrate some of the desired experience and abilities below:
Degree qualified in Computer Science or equivalent.
10+ years’ experience as a Security Architect, Cyber Security Architect or similar senior security role on complex enterprise transformation programs, preferably in regulated or critical infrastructure environments.
Strong experience developing, refining or implementing cyber security strategies, roadmaps and security uplift programs.
Demonstrated experience developing or supporting Security Risk Management Plans, including risk identification, control mapping, treatment planning, accountability, assurance and reporting.
Experience working in utilities, water, local government, public sector or critical infrastructure environments is desirable.
